The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The sheet is hinged to the backing board at the corner-tips and periodically along the edges. The sheet undulates slightly and the edges are deckled. Artist's pinholes are scattered to the corner-tips and extreme edges of the sheet. Minor wear, tiny losses and faint hairline cracks are occasional to the corner-tips and extreme edges. Visible under close inspection and raking light, fine drying cracks are occasional. A few fine linear abrasions and drip accretions are occasional, most notably to the black painted passages. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
