The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work is structurally sound and mounted to the backing board at the interior edges and upper edges of the lips with metal hooks. A light layer of surface dust is present. Minor wear and faint rubbing is infrequently near the edges. A pinpoint loss is to the upper left edge, and a few spots of stray media are to the lower edge. Faint rubbing is scattered to the edges of the red lips, presumably in keeping with the artist's working method and choice of medium. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
