Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. The collage elements appear to adhere well to their underlying support. There are some points of lifting, minor tears to the collage elements and a few hairline cracks in places, in keeping with the nature of the artists chosen medium. The canvas is slightly irregular to the lower right, presumably a result of the artist’s stretcher. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally very good condition.
