The canvas is unstretched. There are a few minor creases in places, presumably a result of previous packing. There are a few fibrous accretions in places, most notably to the top of the figure's hair. There is a faint hairline abrasion to the upper left quadrant, measuring approx. 5.5in. in length. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
