The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work is structurally sound. There is a superficial layer of dust and accretions in places to the surface. There are some handling marks in places, predominantly to the extreme edges and there some irregularities to the impasto in places along the extreme edges, presumably as a result of previous handling. There are some inconsistencies to the surface showing some areas darker than others, possibly as a result of previous exposure to humidity. There are some paint losses in places along the edges and one loss measuring approximately 3cm in length to the lower right extreme corner. There is a linear area of surface irregularities to the lower half. There are two areas of discolouration to the lower left quadrant. There some irregularities to the impasto in places along the extreme edges, presumably as a result of previous handling and there are some handling marks in places, predominantly to the extreme edges. When examined under ultraviolet light some of these handling marks fluoresce, but not in a manner consistent with retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
