The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is minor rubbing to the extreme upper left corner. There are a few minor handling marks in places to the extreme edges. There are a few minor scuff marks in places, most notably to the lower right quadrant. There are a few accretions to the upper half, only visible under strong raking light. There are a few minor tension cracks to the extreme edges. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
