The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. The edges of the stretcher are uneven. There is minor discolouration to the edges. There are a few minor tension cracks to the vertical turnover edges. There is a hairline accretion to the right vertical edge. There are two pinpoint losses the extreme lower right corner and a pinpoint tear to the lower right quadrant. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
