Lacuna

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is minor rubbing to all four corners and there are some faint handling marks to the central left vertical edge. There are two hairline linear abrasions to the upper right quadrant and central section of the work, each measuring approximately 1.5in. in length. When examined under ultraviolet light there is no indication of any inpainting. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
