Church Hat II

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas is unstretched. There are a few creases in places, presumably a result of previous packing. There are a few pinpoint accretions in places, presumably in keeping with the artist's working method. There is a tear to the extreme lower horizontal edge of the border, not visible when stretched. There is a fibrous accretion to the central figure's cheek. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally very good condition.
