The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There are a few faint handling marks in places to the lower right vertical edge. There is some minor rubbing to the extreme corners and left vertical edge with a few associated pinpoint paint losses in places. There are a few pinpoint accretions in places, most notably to the centre and upper right quadrant. There are a few minor surface abrasions to the lower left quadrant. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally very good condition.
