The work is structurally sound. Minor wear, handling marks, surface scuffs, fine surface scratches, tiny dents, a few tiny losses, spots of oxidation, and accretions are scattered. A tiny dent is to the upper right edge of the cello and a vertical hairline crack is to the lower right edge near the signature. Another hairline crack is to the lower neck of the cello on the reverse and faint cracking is to the seams near the neck of the cello. Visible under ultraviolet light, some areas fluoresce, likely adhesive or varnish and in keeping with the artist's working method.
