The upper side edge is visible on the face of the painting. Minor wear and tension cracking is visible along the corner-tips and edges, with an associated pinpoint loss to the upper right vertical edge. Networks of stable cracks are scattered throughout the purple and pastel green painted passages. Under raking light, subtle surface deformations are scattered to the orange painted passage around the eye. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
