The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The sheet is hinged periodically along the upper edge to the backing board and undulates slightly. The edges of the sheet are deckled. Minor wear is to the corner-tips. A small loss is to the lower right corner-tip, and a minute partial tear is to the lower left corner. A faint area of discoloration is to the upper right edge, possibly the result of the residue of the hinging. A few faint abrasions is to the center left edge, some possibly in keeping with the artist's working method. Soft handling indents are scattered, most notably to the upper half of the sheet. A tiny drip accretion is left of center in a white colored passage. Visible only under close inspection and raking light, a few faint surface scuffs are visible within the black colored passages. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
