Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The sheet is hinged to the backing board at the corner-tips and periodically along the edges and undulates. The edges of the sheet are deckled. A few fine indentations are to the upper left edge in a green painted passage, just above the watermelon in a green painted passage, and to the lower right corner, all presumably in keeping with the artist's working method. Creasing is to the found paper elements, likely in keeping with the artist's choice of medium. A tiny accretion is to the upper right of the pink watermelon and a few spots of discoloration are to the lower right corner in white painted passages. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
