Several nicks, fine scratches and spots of wear are occasionally to the frame. A few small spots of varnish retouching are occasionally to the lower edge of the frame, visible both in natural and under ultraviolet light. A minute mark is to the center lower edge of the canvas, visible both in natural and under ultraviolet light, and one is to the upper right edge of the canvas, possibly a vestige of the artist’s process. A few small, very faint spots of surface soiling are visible occasionally in raking light. There is no apparent inpainting to the canvas visible under ultraviolet light.

The condition of lots sold can vary widely due to factors such as age, previous damage, restoration, repair, and wear and tear. The nature of the lots sold means that they will rarely be in perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
