The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work has not been examined outside its frame. The sheets undulate slightly. Pinholes are to the corners of the center sheet, presumably a vestige of the artist's process. The upper edge of the center sheet is deckled. A few small tears are visible occasionally to the upper edge of each sheet, and a minute one is to the center lower edge. A crease is left of center. A few small spots of discoloration are to the lower left quadrant in a white passage, presumably vestiges of the artist's process. A small faint abrasion is left of center in a grey passage. A minute accretion is to the figure's proper left forehead above and right of center .
