Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The sheet is hinged along the upper edge of the paperboard and undulates slightly. The sheet and paperboard have shifted in tone, and minor soiling and surface accretions are visible occasionally. Discoloration, most notably to the edges of the sheet, is present, presumably a vestige of the mounting process and adhesive. Under close inspection, faint surface scuffs and tiny stable drying cracks are occasionally to the black painted passages. On the sheet, faint creasing is to the lower left corner, a tiny partial tear is to the lower right corner, a pinpoint nick is to the upper right edge, a tiny spot of loss is to the lower right edge, and two artist's pinholes are to the lower center edge. Under ultraviolet light, a tiny spot of inpainting fluoresces to the lower right edge.
