The work has not been examined outside its frame, which is attached with nails at the side edges of the canvas. The canvas is slightly slack and there is light surface soiling overall. A few pinpoint spots of disturbed fibers, some with associated pinpoint losses, are visible occasionally. Small occasional spots of discoloration are visible both under ultraviolet and in natural light, predominately to the margins, but do not appear to be inpainting. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
