The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work has not been examined unframed. Minor rubs, bumping and light soiling are to the corner tips and extreme edges, and associated pastel losses are occasional. Surface scuffs with associated loss are infrequent, and one larger diagonal abrasion is to the blue and green pastel passage just left of center. A few artist's pinholes are visible, most notably near the lower left edge. A small accretion is to the green pastel passage at the center right edge, and another is to the proper right breast of the central blue figure. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
