The sheet is hinged to the backing board at the corner-tips and periodically along the edges and undulates slightly. The sheet has shifted in tone. Artist's pinholes are to the corner-tips and upper edge and minor wear, tiny nicks and a few spots of skinning are to the corner-tips and extreme edges. Creases are scattered, presumably in keeping with the artist's working method. Visible under close inspection, a very fine surface scratch is to the upper left quadrant and a few tiny surface scratches are to the lower right corner in a black painted passage. A tiny loss is below center in a black painted passage. A few drying cracks are to center in white painted passages. Visible under ultraviolet light, two tiny spots of possible inpainting are to the lower left quadrant.
