The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

(i) The canvas is slightly slack and undulates slightly. Very minor wear is to the corner tips and extreme turning edges. A faint hairline abrasion is to the upper left corner, and a faint linear impression is near the upper right edge, visible primarily under raking light. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light. (ii) Very minor wear is to the corner tips with associated hairline cracking to the upper right corner tip. A small rub with associated surface loss is to the upper left edge. A faint, possible hairline abrasion is near the left edge within the brown painted passage. A few nascent cracks are to the lower left corner. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
