The Control Group

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The sheet is hinged intermittently along the edges to the backing board and undulates slightly. The edges of the sheet are deckled. Tiny drying cracks with associated minute losses are to the upper center in the dark purple passages, and a minute drying crack is above the center lower edge in a dark brown passage. A small media stain is near the lower edge right of center in a brown passage, and a few smaller ones are near it, all presumably in keeping with the artist's working method. There is no apparent inpainting under ultraviolet light.
