The work has not been examined outside its frame, which is attached with nails to a spacer and the side edges of the canvas. A light layer of surface soiling is visible intermittently. A small spot of wear is to the upper right edge, and two small spots of surface soiling are to the lower left edge. A small, faint abraded accretion is right of center and a small abrasion is to the lower left edge. A few pinpoint accretions are visible occasionally, and two minute ones are above the right lower edge. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
