The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The painting has been executed on a very thin sail cloth, and is housed in a frame that covers the side edges. The painting has not been examined outside of the frame. There is minor pilling in places to the sail cloth. The cloth undulates in a few small areas near the heavier painted passages. There are two hairline cracks at the base of the blue tree near the lower edge. Under ultraviolet light, a repair is visible with associated inpainting at the base of the blue tree, and a few small spots of inpainting are visible to the associated cracks mentioned above.
