The work has not been examined outside its frame, which is attached with nails to a spacer and the side edges of the canvas. Several faint handling marks and small abraded accretions are occasionally to the edges and corners, and several hairline cracks are to the vertical turning edges. A few pinpoint losses and a few faint spots of discoloration are visible above center. Several white linear marks, not by the hand of the artist, are to the lower left quadrant in a blue passage. Under ultraviolet light, a small spot below and right of center in a green passage fluoresces distinctly, but does not appear to be inpainting. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
