The sheet is hinged to the backing board along the upper edge. Artist's pinholes are visible to the upper corners and the center lower edge, presumably in keeping with the artist's working method, visible underneath the mat. Faint wear and discoloration are visible in the margins, not affecting the image. A few faint linear abrasions are visible occasionally. A pinpoint accretion is visible near the upper left edge in a black painted passage. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
