The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This work has not been examined unframed. The canvas is slightly slack. Minor wear and handling marks are to the unpainted passages, most likely in keeping with the artist's working method. A faint abrasion is occasional to the lower edge. A few tiny losses are to some impasto peaks. Visible under very close inspection, a faint drip accretion is to the center lower edge. Drying cracks are to the lower right quadrant in a light brown painted passage near the left ear area of the dog. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
