Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The work is structurally sound and a fine layer of surface dust is present. Drip accretions are intermittent, presumably in keeping with the artist's working method. Visible under close inspection and raking light, stable drying cracks are occasional, most notably to the upright chair element and the spine and tail of the lower element. Two small losses are to the lower half of the upper right leg of the upright chair element. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
