Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The work is structurally sound and all elements are present. Minor wear and a few associated losses are to the base near the lower left corner where the PVC pipe stands. The PVC pipe rests on the gray base element and stands upright to mimic a street sign. The yellow street light boxes hang on the pipe’s outstretched elements. Minor wear and a few associated paint losses are to the tinned can elements, which are piled atop one another to the right of the pipe. The figure is screwed into place on the base with screws in either foot. Visible under close inspection, minor wear is to the figure, with associated losses to the papier-mâché interior. The trash bag has been replaced and re-glued to the figure’s hand. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
