Cream colored ergonomic mouse with green eyes and black cord with DE-9 serial connector

The Microsoft Green Eyed (Alps) Mouse, introduced in the mid-1980s, was a significant advancement in mouse technology. It featured optical sensor technology developed by Alps Electric, which provided a major leap forward from the traditional mechanical mice with their moving parts and ball tracking. This innovation allowed for smoother and more accurate cursor movement on the screen.

Designed with user comfort in mind, the Green Eyed Mouse had an ergonomic shape that conformed to the natural curve of the hand. This design aimed to reduce strain and make prolonged use more comfortable. Additionally, the optical technology enabled the mouse to work effectively on a variety of surfaces, eliminating the need for a mousepad.

By combining advanced optical sensing with a focus on ergonomic design, the Green Eyed Mouse set new standards in computer peripherals. It demonstrated Microsoft’s commitment to improving user experience through innovative technology and thoughtful design.
