The canvas has been subject to relining; it is held under tension and remains stable. In natural light scattered retouching can be seen, notably to the pink of the cloth, in the background at centre and in the background to the left. There is a slightly patchy varnish. Examination under UV light is impaired by the cloudy varnish, but confirms the aforementioned retouching. The paint remains stable.
