The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
The enamels are fine quality and bright.
There is age-related wear and light scratches as expected.
There is some scattered light pitting and some tiny areas of waxy infill.
There are two old areas of enamel restoration to either side of the central section that have been restored with a wax infill, the largest measuring approx. 2.7 cm. x 1 cm.. These are not breaks but would appear to be restoration just to the enamels although there is a surface hairline to the gilt metal to one edge of the shaft.
There are two small apertures to the edge of the lower section and also to the edge of the ruyi head to the reverse.
