Acquired from the 1953 exhibition by Helen Melville Russell-Cooke,
by whom bequeathed to Anthony and Marietta Coleridge, the present owners.

Lot Essay

The present work went on to become three windows in the boarding house oratory of Blackrock College, Co. Dublin. It was here that Hone was received into the Catholic Church by the then Head of the College, Rev J.C. McQuaid, who later became the Archbishop of Dublin.
