The Flight into Egypt

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The painting has been executed on an oak panel made up of two boards joined horizontally. The panel has been bevelled to the upper, left- and right-hand edges. The panel is stable. In natural light the horizontal panel join can be seen. There are three minor scratches to the panel at upper centre and one at lower centre. Examination under UV reveals scattered retouching throughout, notably in the dark background passages. The paint remains stable.
