The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The silver box with some surface scratching and light bruising consistent with age and use. Small nicks to cover rim. Natural imperfections to the shell.
The Russian box: marks clear. Wear to the gilding on edges. Small bruise to the rim, does not close flush.
The gilt metal box: wear to the gilding on high points. Small nicks to rims.
The other gilt-metal and mother-of-pearl box: cover now detached from the box. Some wear on high points, especially around the cover rim.
