The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In overall fairly good condition.
With the inevitable knocks, marks, losses, scratches and shrinkage cracks, consistent with age and use.
The top with some heavy sun fading and marks with an overall uneven appearance.
Some pitting and surface scratching all over.
The interior to the top has been restored previously when the hinge has broken through the timber, visible to the bottom right edge of the top flap.
The timber to the interior rather dull in colour and would benefit from some sympathetic restoration.
The blocks and rails with evidence of historic but apparently inactive woodwork.
Repairs to the front left side carved ear.
Repairs to the frieze ends overall.
The back right ear replaced.
Some cracking and bubbling to the veneers of the frieze.
Otherwise structurally secure and ready to use.
