Oil on canvas. Not lined. Minor frame abrasion. There are some networks of drying craquelure, mostly visible in the lower part of the fountain, on the palm leaves, and along the left edge. Some mild surface dirt and a few spots of bloom, mainly visible in the lower part of the composition. Examined under ultra-violet light: there is evidence of an area of inpaint in the lower centre of the fountain, and a few tiny further strokes to its left. A few strokes of retouching along the left edge and some further scattered small spots in places in the upper sky and in the central part of the composition.
