The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This table is in generally good overall condition.
The whole has been lightly cleaned and repolished at some time but retains reasonable colour and patina.
There is the expected slight shrinkage and minor cracking throughout notably this has left the brass band which edges the top slightly loose and has caused a small section of edge veneer to lift to the right-hand edge of the top, neither point being particularly serious.
The replacement handles appear contemporary, previously with knobs with star-shaped back plates, one handle slightly loose. There is also a small scar below the escutcheon where a later single handle may once have been fitted, this is not very obvious and does not detract.
The joints between the out-swept feet and the base of the upright well repaired to the right-hand side.
Overall minor knocks, chips, scratches and wear consistent with age and use.
In generally good decorative and structural condition and ready to use.
