The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In overall fairly good 'country house' condition.
With the inevitable knocks, marks, losses, scratches and shrinkage cracks, consistent with age and use.
The calamander veneer to the top rather dry and with some lifting and bubbling.
Some losses and repairs to the stringing and crossbanding overall. One noticeable loss to the left hand side of top.
Some lifting to stringing to the right hand side.
As stated the green baize of later date.
The mechanism working well but the table does not sit 'flush' when hinged open which would benefit from sympathetic restoration and securing.
The calamander to shaft with some rubbing and loss of definition.
Some shrinkage to the support overall, particularly to the upper section.
The castors and caps with tarnishing and scratching but castors running well.
Overall an interesting and successful design and structurally secure.
