The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvases have been subject to relining; they are held under tension and remain stable. The paintings present well in natural light, with the detail of the compositions well preserved. Both carry a historic varnish that has yellowed somewhat. In a raking light, some scattered retouching can be seen, notably to the backgrounds. Examination under UV light reveals some scattered retouching. A more in depth examination is impaired by the aforementioned varnish. The paint is stable.
