GENEROUSLY DONATED BY CHATILA
Chatila jewellers were founded in Lebanon in 1860 by Jerious Chatila, today Chatila is led by the third and fourth generation of jewellers: Nicolas Chatila and his three sons, Marwan, Edward and Carlos. In the 1970s, management of the company was transferred to Switzerland. The transfer brought with it an abundance of fresh ideas and new designs that have proven extremely popular with the Chatila clientele.
Chatila’s flagship showroom in Geneva, on the opulent Rue du Rhône, is a fashionable shopping venue for clients who seek that rare and exclusive piece of jewellery of sheer magnificence. Chatila’s other principal store is in Old Bond Street, London’s prestigious Jewellery region. It attracts celebrities and members of the elite and affluent alike; who often shop by appointment to ensure discretion with their purchases. Clients are sometimes drawn to the jewellery by the spectacular window displays.
The Chatila family takes a hands-on approach to business; dealing personally with clients, directing the style of jewellery created in its workshops and supervising the stringent standard of quality control over the jewellery before it can be made available for purchase. All participate in the selection and evaluation of unique and rare gemstones: Chatila has had phenomenal stones pass through its ownership, such as the 57 carat “Rangoon Splendor” ruby, the legendary “Hapsburg” 87 carat D Flawless diamond, the “Indore Pears,” each weighing approximately 45 carats, and the “Archduke Joseph” 76.45 carat cushion-shaped diamond.
Creating jewellery is very much an art form, and every little aspect of an item of jewellery has to be carefully planned to ensure that its ultimate wearer feels the pleasure of owning Chatila jewellery. As soon as a piece of jewellery is created by the Chatila craftsmen it undergoes rigorous standards of quality control. Only a standard of excellence and perfection will make it into the showcases.
