The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The canvas, stretcher and attachments are in generally good condition. There is minute rubbing to the extreme four corners, with associated points of paint loss, the largest of which measuring 0.5cm. in diameter. There are a few scattered faint hairline drying cracks in places. There are a few hairline superficial surface abrasions to the lower left quadrant, visible under raking light. There is some minor rubbing and associated accretion to the centre. When examined under ultra-violet light, the work fluoresces unevenly, but not in a manner consistent with inpainting. It is our view that the work appears to be in generally very good condition.
