The hat-pin; in good condition. The surfaces of the micromosaics are smooth and complete. Some small nicks to the rims of the black glass paste support. The securing pin is a gilt-metal replacement. The brooch; there is a loss of tesserae underneath the extended wing of the swan on the left-hand side of the composition. Some surface scratches and minor nicks to the to the mount.
