Original trophy baseball representing a game between the Unions of Morrisania and the Una Base Ball Club of Mt. Vernon, May 19th, 1866. The lemon-peel style baseball has been painted a bright gold and inscribed in black paint 1866, May 19, Union 25, UNA. Mt. Vernon 11, 9 Innings. The 1866 Unions of Morrisania featured shortstop and future Hall of Famer George Wright (1847-1937), outfielder Dave Birdsall (1838-1896) and pitcher Charlie Pabot (1846-1913). Overall Excellent condition with some crazing, minor chipping and rubbing to the gold paint and a mounting hole (from its original display).
