Exceptionally rare letter dated September 2nd, 1902, from Philadelphia Giants co-founder and manager H. W. Schlichter (1866-1944) to fellow Negro League executive Nat Strong, informing him of the Giants lineup for an upcoming game. The ’02 season was the first for the legendary Negro league team and players listed include Hall of Famers Sol White at shortstop and Frank Grant at third base. Signed by Schlichter in black ink. Matted with a copy of a photo of the team. Letter is in overall Fair condition with fold lines and chipping.
