Handwritten letter dated September 21st, 1910 from Hall of Fame pitcher Chief Bender (1884-1954) to Cincinnati promoter D.A. Fletcher, regarding a post-season barnstorming series between major league stars of the day. Bender writes I have your letter of the 20th and in reply to it will say that I will play. Bender then adds his uniform measurements. The proposed All Star Series was quickly banned by baseball's National Commission (predecessor to the Baseball Commissioner) and players were forced to return any money they had accepted. Signed C.A. Bender, and initialed C.A.B. in black ink. Overall Excellent condition.
