A two-page typewritten letter on American Base Ball Club of Philadelphia stationary signed by Hall of Famer Connie Mack (1862-1956), dated Feb. 24th, 1909 in which Mack writes to Erwin Holt in regards to the outlook of the Philadelphia Athletics upcoming season. Most interestingly, he mentions Joe Jackson who was about to embark on his second season in the Major Leagues, Jackson has signed his contract and from reports that I get from Greenville this Player realizes that it is better for him to give his best services to our Club this Year. That he will not feel homesick and so forth as last year. In that event there is no doubt but what he will be of some assistance in helping us to win... Signed Connie Mack in black ink. Overall Excellent condition.
