A 19th Century maple trophy bat presented to Henry Fairchild, 2nd Baseman of the Clifton BBC for his excellent performance in a series of games against the Actives BBC in July, 1867. An engraved metal plaque on the barrel reads, Presented to Henry B. Fairchild, Second Baseman of the Clifton BBC for Best Score in the Home Run Match, Clifton vs. Actives, Actives vs. Clifton, July 29, 1867, Cliftons 94 Actives 53, H. B. Fairchild, 13 Runs, 0 Outs. The reverse reads, Presented by the Clifton BB Club and lists the names of the ten members of the team. A faint outline of what may have been a metal band or cap, is visible on the top of the barrel. Exhibits moderate wear, minor indentations, scratches and light scuff marks. Authenticated by PSA/DNA.
