Handwritten letter dated October 10th, 1910 from Hall of Famer John J. McGraw (1873-1934) to Cincinnati promoter D.A. Fletcher, regarding a post-season barnstorming series between major league stars of the day. McGraw writes If I can be of any use to you on this end let me know. Wishing you success. I am Yours Truly, J.J. McGraw. The proposed All Star Series was quickly banned by baseball's National Commission (predecessor to the Baseball Commissioner) and players were forced to return any money they had accepted. An additional signed letter including handwritten measurements for McGraw’s uniform accompanies the lot. Overall Good condition with foxing and a staple hole.
