The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Goauche and black crayon on wove paper. Hinged to the mount at the reverse upper sheet corners. The upper and right sheet edges slightly unevenly cut, and the left and lower edges deckled, with associated irregularities. The artist's pinholes at the four corners with some associated discolouration. The upper left corner with a diagonal crease (approx. 6 cm. long). The lower left and upper right corners with shorter diagonal creases. A few further soft creases elsewhere. Mount- and light-staining. Four areas of slight rubbing to the sheet outside the composition, probably dating from the time of execution. A few pale foxmarks. Minor surface dirt. The pigments are strong and fresh throughout. Subject to the foregoing it is our opinion that this work appears to be in generally good condition.
